CrossRoads – RoboHemp2025

The characteristics of hemp are very favorable. Hemp grows quickly, requires little water, needs no pesticides, improves the soil structure, and has a high CO2 absoption capacity.

The Flemish SME Hyler and the Dutch SME AgXeed are developing a self-driving hemp harvesting machine together.

The harvesting requires a specific technique, which has the best outcome when it’s done automatically. Namely since the harvested hemp must be perfectly cut into two parts and laid neatly parallel behind the machine, taking into account the length of the hemp and the space in between the rows.
